BFFC provides residential placements for young people aged 13-17 years old, that require an individual, calm, homely environment. Whilst not only focusing on the interventions we use in house, but we also have a wide range of professionals that we work alongside, to provide the greatest outcomes for young people in our care.

To enable traumatised children to form positive attachments with caring adults and eradicate the nefarious impacts of adverse childhood experiences through the provision of safe, comfortable, stable residential spaces wherein caring staff help the children to process and reduce the trauma that brought them into care.

Brighter futures for children is a good company to work for. Staff are all friendly and professional, making a positive impact on traumatized teens.The different this setting makes to young peoples lives is incredible. Very supportive company. Great work life balance. There is a high staff turn over at times however this is the nature of this role as can burn out easily if not minding own health.

In this role you engage in the day to day running of a home, supporting and engaging with YP. Training provided to best support you in this role from the begining and you meet other like minded individuals with the same goals/values to give YP the best quality of life. Challenging behaviours can be the hardest part of the role, but you are well supported by all levels of the team through these. The best part of this role is being able to see the progress and playing an active role in a YPs life.

Services at a Glance

Outdoor Pursuits

We encourage all young people to spend as much time as possible outdoors, in nature, taking part in activities that benefit their overall health and wellbeing. We work alongside local outdoor pursuits facilitators and use specific measures to measure outcomes for young people in care. We also take part in these activities for the fun of it!

Education

We recognise that mainstream educational settings are not always what best suits the needs of our young people. We encourage and support young people to take part in education through mediums that may better suit their needs, such as iScoil and ASDAN. These programs encourage development at the young person’s case, celebrating small successes regularly and providing individual support to achieve goals.

Alternative therapy

At BFFC, we recognise that traditional talking therapy, whilst extremely beneficial, may not be for everyone. We work alongside local alternative therapists; from art and music therapy to equine assisted therapy, to find a therapeutic support that best supports that individual and create a program that is most beneficial to supporting their needs.

Occupational therapy

At BFFC, we have close working relationships with highly specialised Occupational Therapists, that specialise in Sensory Attachment Intervention (SAI). Young people benefit from taking part in a structured program of intervention, where the key focus is ‘Regulation’.

Community engagement

We encourage all of our young people to take part in local clubs and community projects, to encourage them to build connections with peers and the local community. We encourage this through membership with local sports teams, youth clubs and community incentives.
